Alka Tiwari has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, receiving approval from the Election Commission of India amid the state’s electoral preparations. Tiwari, an IAS officer of the 1988 batch from Jharkhand, succeeds L Khiangte, who retired on October 31, 2024.
