NTA CMAT 2024: Online application delayed; registration expected to begin soon

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to begin the registration round for the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) 2024. The online registration round last year had begun on February 13, 2024; going by previous year’s trend, the online application process has been considerable delayed for the 2024 cycle.
The NTA which has not released any notification on the CMAT exam is expected to begin the process soon. Various media reports suggest that the CMAT 2024 key dates and information brochure will be released shortly on the official website for CMAT 2024. In the CMAT 2024 notification the NTA will also release other essential information such as reservation criteria, examination dates, application fee and updated eligibility details.
In previous years, CMAT registration usually began in November or December. However, starting in 2022, the registration process was moved to February. For example, in 2023, registration began on February 13th, while in 2022, it began on the 16th. In comparison, registration for CMAT 2021 and 2020 opened in December 2020 and November 2019, respectively. This change in registration timing indicates that CMAT examination scheduling has changed in recent years.
This year, there is no change is expected in the CMAT eligibility criteria. As per the previous year’s eligibility criteria, students with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and those waiting for results are eligible to apply. There is no age restriction on filling out the CMAT registration form.
CMAT examination pattern
The CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) is a national-level examination conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode, with a duration of three hours (180 minutes). The exam syllabus covers Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension & Verbal Ability, General Awareness, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The CMAT exam pattern consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with 20 questions per section. The marking scheme awards 4 marks for each correct attempt and deducts 1 mark for every incorrect attempt.
How to apply for CMAT?
Once the registration process has begun, candidates can follow the guide given below to successfully apply for CMAT 2024-
Step 1: Visit the official CMAT registration website at cmat.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: Once on the homepage, locate and click on the “CMAT Registration 2024” link.
Step 3: Fill in all the required details accurately, including personal, communication, and academic information.
Step 4: Upload the necessary documents, such as your photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable), ensuring they adhere to the prescribed format.
Step 5: Choose your preferred CMAT exam centre from the options provided.
Step 6: Make the payment for the CMAT 2024 application fee online, which is Rs 2000 (Rs 1000 for reserved categories). Please note that the application fee may change, so verify the current amount.
Step 7: Review all the information provided to ensure accuracy.
Step 8: Submit the completed CMAT application form.
Step 9: After submission, it’s advisable to print a copy of the application for your reference and records.
Media reports suggest that 75,209 people had registered for the CMAT exam last year, with 58,035 of them appearing forit. A similarnumber of applicants are expected for this year’s exam.
