UPTET 2023: The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board is set to release the notification for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) in the coming weeks. To be eligible for UPTET 2023, candidates must meet the specified criteria. UPTET Paper 1 is for the recruitment of teachers for classes 1 to 5. The following are the educational qualifications required to appear for UPTET Paper 1:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
  • Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  • Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education).

UPTET Paper 2 is for the recruitment of teachers for classes 6 to 8. The following are the educational qualifications required to appear for UPTET Paper 2:

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
  • Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passing or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passing or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
  • Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years B.El.Ed.

In addition to the educational qualifications, candidates must also fulfil the following age criteria:
Minimum age: 18 years
Maximum age: 35 years (relaxation in age is applicable as per government rules)
UPTET exam application fees
The application fee for UPTET 2023 is INR 600 for General/ OBC and EWS category and Rs 400 for SC/ ST and Rs 100 for PWD candidates. Candidates must keep scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature ready before filling the form.
The application fee can be paid online through a debit card, credit card, or net banking. The application fee is non-refundable.
