IIT Madras has introduced a six-month internship program for B.Tech students to enhance industry exposure and improve their chances of securing pre-placement offers. This change allows students to skip core courses in their sixth semester and focus on internships. The extended duration will help students gain practical experience, strengthen technical and soft skills, and boost employability.
