China has strongly condemned the US’ threat to escalate tariffs on Chinese imports, labeling it a “mistake on top of a mistake” and an act of blackmail. Beijing vowed to retaliate with countermeasures to protect its interests if the US proceeds with the tariffs. Despite the escalating tensions and tit-for-tat duties, China reiterated its willingness to engage in dialogue.
