The Supreme Court Collegium has cleared the appointment of two additional judges as permanent Judges of the Gauhati High Court. The recommended names are Justice Budi Habung and Justice N. Unni Krishnan Nair. Their elevation will strengthen the judicial bench and enhance the overall functioning of the Gauhati High Court.
