Engineers India Limited (EIL) has delivered a milestone project by executing India’s first and largest underground LPG rock cavern for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). With a storage capacity of 80,000 MT, the cavern sets a national benchmark in energy infrastructure. Notably, the facility was excavated beneath existing surface installations, an innovative design that optimizes land usage. Serving as the EPCM consultant, EIL oversaw project management, detailed engineering, construction supervision, and commissioning. CMD Ms. Vartika Shukla hailed the project as “a shining example of engineering excellence,” emphasizing its role in strengthening India’s LPG storage capacity and energy security.
