Vinay Kumar, a 2004-batch IPS officer from the Bihar cadre, has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The appointment has been made on a deputation basis. With extensive experience in policing and internal security, his induction at the IG level is expected to further strengthen the agency’s leadership in handling complex national security cases.
