Design Fest 2026, the maiden art, craft and design-centric festival of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), was formally inaugurated at the DVC headquarters, marking a new chapter in the organisation’s cultural and CSR initiatives.

The festival was inaugurated by S Suresh Kumar, IAS, Chairman, DVC, in the esteemed presence of Abin Chaudhuri, renowned architect and Guest of Honour. The opening ceremony was also attended by Swapnendu Kumar Panda, Member (Technical), DVC, Sudipta Acharjee, CVO, DVC, Additional Secretary, along with several senior officials and executives of the corporation.

Envisioned as a vibrant platform to promote creativity, traditional craftsmanship and community engagement, Design Fest 2026 aims to bridge the gap between artisans and a broader audience while showcasing India’s rich design and craft legacy. The festival hosts an impressive range of stalls by artisans from West Bengal and Jharkhand, offering visitors an immersive experience.

The exhibits span traditional arts, handicrafts, paintings, sketching, alongside modern attractions such as 3D printing, interactive games, and CSR-focused displays highlighting DVC’s community development efforts.

Scheduled as a three-day event, Design Fest 2026 will conclude on January 17, reaffirming DVC’s commitment to inclusive growth, cultural preservation, and creative innovation. The festival is open to the public with free entry, encouraging wide participation and engagement.
