NLC India Limited (NLCIL) celebrated the 17th Public Sector Day at its Corporate Office in Neyveli with a ceremonial event showcasing the strength and contribution of public sector enterprises in India. The occasion was observed under the aegis of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), highlighting the critical role of CPSEs in driving the nation’s economic growth.

The event began with the hoisting of PSU and NLCIL flags by Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, in the presence of senior leadership, including Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Samir Swarup, and Rajesh Pratap Singh Sisodia, along with officials, union representatives, and staff.

Addressing the gathering, the CMD emphasized the scale and significance of over 450 public sector enterprises in India, with investments exceeding ₹100 lakh crore, generating revenues of ₹38 lakh crore, and contributing ₹5 lakh crore to the national exchequer. He also highlighted the ₹8,000 crore spent annually on CSR initiatives, reflecting the social commitment of PSUs.

Reflecting on NLCIL’s journey, he noted that its first Thermal Power Station was dedicated to the nation in 1962 by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He outlined ambitious future plans, including tripling power generation, doubling mining output, and expanding renewable energy capacity sevenfold, supported by an investment of ₹1.25 lakh crore.

The CMD congratulated Team NLCIL for achieving a “Golden Year” in FY 2025–26, marked by excellence across operations. The event concluded with a renewed pledge towards safety, integrity, and excellence, followed by the rendition of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem.
