Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, has been honoured with the prestigious Green World Award 2026 in the Climate Change category. The award ceremony was held at Cardiff Castle, recognising the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible operations.
The award was received by Vipul Singh, Senior DGM (CSR), and Manu Sinha, DGM (CSR). POWERGRID earned this recognition for its efforts in developing energy-efficient transmission systems and embedding sustainability into its project execution strategy.
Instituted by The Green Organisation, the Green World Awards are globally recognised for honouring organisations that demonstrate excellence in environmental management, sustainability practices, and carbon reduction.
As of March 31, 2026, POWERGRID operates 291 substations, over 1,84,960 circuit kilometres of transmission lines, and a transformation capacity of 6,24,016 MVA. With advanced technologies, automation, and digital solutions, the company continues to maintain an impressive transmission system availability of over 99.84%, reinforcing its leadership in India’s power transmission sector.
