Tamil Nadu transfers 17 IAS officers in major bureaucratic reshuffle

The Tamil Nadu government has announced a major reshuffle involving 17 IAS officers, with several senior bureaucrats receiving new responsibilities in important departments. Gagandeep Singh Bedi has been transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, while Mrs P Amudha has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation, Food, and Consumer Protection Department.

Sathyabrata Sahoo will now serve as Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, and Shunchonngam Jatak Chiru has been appointed Principal Secretary, Public Works Department. Anil Meshram has been assigned the role of Principal Secretary, Energy Department.

Dr Vallalar has been appointed Secretary, Transport Department, while K S Palanisamy will head the Revenue and Disaster Management Department as Secretary. V Dakshinamoorthy has been posted as Secretary, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, and Minorities Welfare Department. Sajjan Singh Chavan has taken charge as Secretary, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department, and Prashant M Wadnere has been appointed Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.

In other significant appointments, Arun Sundar Dayalan has been posted as Inspector General, Registration Department, while G Lakshmipathy will serve as Joint Secretary, Finance Department. T Anand has been appointed Commissioner, Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and Dr G S Sameeran has been posted as Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation.

Dr M Aarthi has taken over as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women. Dinesh Ponraj Oliver has been appointed Managing Director, Water Supply and Sewerage Board, while Rahul Nadh will serve as Secretary, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.

The latest Tamil Nadu IAS reshuffle is expected to enhance administrative coordination and strengthen governance across key sectors of the state.
