The Central Government has extended the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Engineers India Limited held by Praveen M. Khanooja for another three months with effect from June 1, 2026.
Khanooja, a 1994-batch Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer, is presently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He was entrusted with the additional responsibility of leading EIL following the retirement of former CMD Vartika Shukla on February 28, 2026.
The extension ensures continuity in leadership at EIL, one of India’s premier engineering consultancy and EPC companies serving the hydrocarbon and energy sectors. The decision is expected to support the company’s ongoing projects and strategic initiatives while the process for a regular appointment continues.
