Patna: The Bihar government has ordered a police reshuffle involving six officers, including five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, introducing changes across senior law-and-order administration, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), district policing and the Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP).

The transfer and posting orders were issued on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with several officers assigned new responsibilities in key police formations.

The major postings announced as part of the reshuffle are as follows:

  • Kiran Kumar Gorakh Jadhav has been posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Arwal.
  • Navjot Simi has been appointed SP, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Patna.
  • Ratna Sanjay has been appointed Additional Director General (ADG), Law and Order. She will also hold additional charge as ADG, Prohibition and the State Narcotics Control Bureau.
  • K. Suhita Anupam has been posted as ADG, Weaker Sections.
  • Chandraprakash has been appointed SP, Patna Central.
  • Mamta Kalyani has been posted as Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP)-10, Patna.

Focus on Law and Order and Specialised Police Units:

The latest Bihar police reshuffle covers several operational and administrative wings, including law and order, criminal investigation, prohibition enforcement, narcotics control and the command structure of the state’s armed police force.

Ratna Sanjay’s appointment as ADG, Law and Order, along with additional responsibilities in prohibition and narcotics control, is among the principal changes in the latest order. The district-level postings in Arwal and Patna also mark changes in local police leadership.

The reshuffle forms part of the state’s administrative exercise to realign responsibilities across senior police ranks and specialised units.
