Patna: The Bihar government has reassigned two IAS officers and announced training arrangements for five IPS officers as part of the latest administrative developments in the state. Vijay Kumar, Additional Secretary in the Education Department, has been transferred to the Urban Development and Housing Department in the same capacity, while Vivek Ranjan Maitrey has been entrusted with the additional charge of Additional Secretary in the Information Technology Department.

In a separate order, five IPS officers, including Bhagalpur DIG Vivek Kumar, will attend the Mid-Career Training Programme (MCTP) Phase III at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. The training programme is scheduled to run from October 26 to November 20.

Bihar IAS Transfer: Vijay Kumar Gets New Posting:

The General Administration Department has issued a notification detailing changes in the responsibilities of two IAS officers.

Vijay Kumar, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Education Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department until further orders.

Meanwhile, Vivek Ranjan Maitrey, Director of the Sports Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Additional Secretary in the Information Technology Department until further orders.

The changes form part of the latest administrative adjustments undertaken by the Bihar government.

Five IPS Officers to Attend Training in Hyderabad:

The Bihar Home Department has issued an order for five IPS officers to participate in the Mid-Career Training Programme (MCTP) Phase III at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.

The programme will take place from October 26 to November 20. The department has also made arrangements for officers to handle the responsibilities of those attending the training.

The IPS officers scheduled to participate in the programme are:

  1. Vivek Kumar: Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Bhagalpur.
  2. Manish Kumar Sinha: Commandant of the Mounted Special Armed Police in Ara.
  3. Rajesh Kumar: Superintendent of Police (SP), Economic Offences Unit (EOU).
  4. Ambrish Rahul: Assistant Director, Bihar Police Academy.
  5. Amritendu Shekhar Thakur: Superintendent of Police, Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment).

Arrangements for Officers During the Training Period:

The Home Department has identified substitute officers for certain posts to ensure continuity of administrative and police operations during the training period.

The DIG of Munger will take over the responsibilities of Vivek Kumar, DIG of Bhagalpur, during his absence.

Similarly, the Superintendent of Police, Bhojpur, will assume the responsibilities of Manish Kumar Sinha, Commandant of the Mounted Special Armed Police in Ara.

For Rajesh Kumar of the Economic Offences Unit, Ambrish Rahul of the Bihar Police Academy and Amritendu Shekhar Thakur of the Central Selection Board for Constable Recruitment, substitute arrangements will be made through internal administrative adjustments.

Departmental Proceedings Against Former Munger DIG Closed:

In another development, the Bihar Home Department has closed departmental proceedings against former Munger DIG Mohammad Shafiul Haq without imposing any penalty.

Shafiul Haq passed away on August 27 this year, following his retirement. The departmental action related to allegations that, during his tenure as DIG of Munger, illegal payments had been collected from junior police officers and personnel through an assistant sub-inspector and a private individual.

The Economic Offences Unit had been investigating the matter. Following his death, the Home Department ordered the departmental proceedings to be concluded without a penalty.

The latest developments include changes in IAS postings, training arrangements for senior police officers and the closure of departmental proceedings involving a former senior police official.
