NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, has achieved a significant milestone in its international expansion with the formal inauguration of its branch office, “NBCC Australia” (ARBN 701 405 218), in Melbourne, Australia, on 28 October 2026.

The opening ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble High Commissioner of India to Australia, Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Dr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC, along with other senior officials and distinguished dignitaries.

The establishment of NBCC Australia marks a significant step towards strengthening the company’s international presence and expanding its operations into developed markets. The newly established branch office will focus on undertaking Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts across Australia, leveraging NBCC’s extensive expertise in delivering large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.

As part of its strategic engagement in Australia, a high-level meeting was also held in Brisbane on 27 October 2026 with Hon’ble Ros Bates MP, Minister of Finance, Trade, Employment and Training, Queensland, along with his Advisor Ms. Molly Wagner. The discussions highlighted substantial opportunities for infrastructure development in Queensland, particularly in sectors such as social housing, hospitality, tourism, institutional infrastructure and transport facilities, especially in view of the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

The establishment of NBCC Australia represents a major strategic initiative by NBCC’s management to position the company as a competitive player in developed international markets. With its proven track record in executing complex infrastructure projects, NBCC aims to bring its expertise in cost-effective, high-quality and timely delivery of construction and infrastructure solutions to the Australian market.

This landmark development is expected to open new avenues for international business, strengthen India–Australia economic cooperation in the infrastructure sector and further reinforce NBCC’s vision of emerging as a globally recognised engineering and construction company.
