New Delhi: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has intensified its cleanliness, environmental conservation and workplace improvement efforts under Special Campaign 6.0, undertaking a series of initiatives across its Corporate Office and regional establishments. The activities focus on promoting sustainability, improving public spaces and strengthening community welfare through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

As part of its CSR programme, HUDCO carried out a major campus improvement drive at the Institution for the Blind in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The initiative included planting over 100 saplings and placing flower pots across the premises to enhance greenery. Classrooms and boundary walls were also beautified with creative artwork.

Several infrastructure improvements were undertaken, including the replacement of window mesh on the ground floor, installation of a new entrance gate and development of a covered parking facility. The playground and surrounding areas were cleared of waste, while the temple terrace and adjoining walls underwent cleaning and painting.

Similar cleanliness initiatives were organised at HUDCO offices across the country. These included Swachhta Pledge activities, plastic waste collection drives and awareness campaigns. Offices also undertook systematic disposal of old records, scrap materials, outdated IT equipment and other redundant items to maintain cleaner and more organised workplaces.

Reinforcing its commitment to employee and support staff welfare, HUDCO also organised an eye check-up camp in association with Centres for Sight Hospital. The camp benefited Swachhta Mitras, housekeeping personnel, multi-tasking staff and security employees.

Through these initiatives, HUDCO continues to promote cleanliness, environmental sustainability, inclusive community development and improved health and hygiene practices, in line with the objectives of Special Campaign 6.0.
