J&K schools, colleges, educational institutions in non-border districts to reopen on May 13

The divisional commissioner of Jammu announced the closure of all schools, colleges, and educational institutions in Jammu province on May 13, 2025, excluding medical colleges, due to ongoing India-Pakistan border tensions. This follows Operation Sindoor and recent military escalations, which prompted earlier closures in Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Leh. Conflicting reports about reopening non-border schools have caused confusion, leaving students and parents uncertain as the region grapples with the impact of the crisis on education.
