In a major career progression for senior civil servants, the Tamil Nadu government has promoted six IAS officers of the 2002 batch to the Principal Secretary Grade. The promotions come into effect from January 1, 2026, strengthening senior-level administration in the state.
The officers elevated to the rank include Mrs Archana Patnaik, Mrs Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan, Dr M S Shanmugan, Mrs Reeta Harish Thakkar, C Samayamoorthy, and Mrs Jayashree Muralidharan, all belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre.
