13 IAS officers get new roles in Gujarat

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Gujarat government has reassigned 13 IAS officers to fresh responsibilities across various departments. Ashwani Kumar takes charge as Principal Secretary of Sports, Youth and Culture, while Ramesh Chand Meena has been entrusted with additional responsibility as Principal Secretary, Ports and Transport. M Thennarasan now heads the Urban Development Department. Milind Shivaram Torawane has been given dual charge — Principal Secretary, Panchayats and Rural Development, as well as MD, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

Among other key appointments: Ms. Arti Kanwar has been assigned additional responsibility as Secretary, Finance Expenditure; Jenu Devan becomes MD, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd; Prabhav Joshi is MD, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd; and Tejas Dilipbhai Parmar has been named Municipal Commissioner of Junagadh.

Dr. Om Prakash takes over as Collector, Rajkot, while Ashish Kumar will serve as Director, Tribal Development in Gandhinagar with additional charge as CEO, Development Support Agency of Gujarat. Further, Suthar Raj (Narmada-Rajpipla), Ankit Pannu (Jamnagar), and Patil Anand Ashok (Dangs-Ahwa) have been posted as District Development Officers in their respective districts.
