Bhupendra Gupta, who currently serves as Director (Technical) at THDC India Limited, has been selected as the next Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Limited. The selection was made during a meeting of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) held on June 11, 2025. Gupta emerged as the top candidate among nine individuals interviewed for this coveted leadership role in India’s hydropower sector.
