In a significant administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing and internal security, the West Bengal Government has transferred and assigned fresh responsibilities to 12 IPS officers across various wings of the police department.
Among the prominent appointments, Anjan Chakraborty has been posted as Administrator, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in the rank of Inspector General, while Sumanjit Ray takes over as Inspector General of Police (Border), Intelligence Branch. Rashid Munir Khan has been appointed IGP Headquarters, whereas Zafar Ajmal Kidwai will serve as Joint Commissioner of Police (Modernization), Kolkata.
The reshuffle also places Pradeep Kumar Yadav as Deputy Commissioner, 4th Battalion, Kolkata, Amlan Kusum Ghosh as Deputy Commissioner, STF, Kolkata, and Charu Sharma as DCP (West), Siliguri. Krishna Gopal Meena has been posted as DCP Headquarters, Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate, while Raspreet Singh takes charge as DCP East in the same commissionerate.
Further appointments include Sambhav Jain as Deputy Commissioner (Traffic), Kolkata, Arka Banerjee as Deputy Commanding Officer, SAP 3rd Battalion, and Savita Goyal as Additional Superintendent of Police (CID), West Bengal. The reshuffle is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and operational coordination across the state’s police force.
