In a major leadership transition within the Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, assumed office as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff on July 1.
Prior to this prestigious appointment, Air Marshal Dixit was serving as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) at the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS). Earlier, he also commanded the Central Air Command as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, where he oversaw several strategic operational responsibilities.
With decades of distinguished military service, extensive operational experience, and proven leadership in joint defence management, Air Marshal Dixit’s elevation is expected to further strengthen the IAF’s modernization initiatives and enhance India’s air power capabilities.
