New Delhi: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved 20 senior-level appointments across several Union ministries, departments, and autonomous bodies. The appointments include officers from the IAS, IRS, IES, ISS, IFoS, IA&AS, ITS, Indian Railway Services, and other Central Group ‘A’ services.
The newly appointed officers will serve in strategic positions related to financial services, agriculture, urban development, disaster management, consumer affairs, public administration, atomic energy, social justice, food security, and investment management.
Among the key appointments, Anish Kumar (IRSE:2001) has been named Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, while Satish Kumar (IRSEE:2002) will assume charge as Coal Controller under the Ministry of Coal.
M. Imkongla Jamir (IAS:2002) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, whereas Avanish Kumar Mishra (ISS:2000) has been posted as Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances.
The government has also appointed Abhijit Phukon (IES:2004) as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, and Sumit Garg (IRSEE:2002) as Chief Executive Officer of the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA).

The latest appointments are expected to strengthen governance and improve policy implementation across critical sectors. Most officers have been appointed for five-year tenures, while some will continue until their superannuation or the completion of combined deputation terms.
