The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Santosh Kumar Tiwari, ISS (2011 batch) as Director in the Lokpal under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Tiwari, who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, has been selected for the post under the Central Staffing Scheme.
His tenure will be for five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The concerned authorities have been directed to relieve Tiwari from his present responsibilities immediately so that he can take up his new assignment at the Lokpal under the Department of Personnel and Training in Delhi.
The order also refers to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) guidelines communicated through the DoPT circular dated August 17, 2005. Under these provisions, an officer is required to join the assigned post within three weeks from the date of issue of the appointment order. Failure to do so may result in initiation of proceedings for debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme.
