The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted ex-post facto approval for the entrustment of additional charge of Chairman, Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Cochin, to P. Hemalatha, IAS (2000 batch, Karnataka cadre).
Hemalatha, who is serving as Development Commissioner, SEZ Cochin, held the additional responsibility of the MPEDA Chairman’s post, which is at the Joint Secretary level.
The approval follows a proposal submitted by the Department of Commerce and provides formal clearance for the additional assignment undertaken during the specified period.
The development comes as part of the Centre’s administrative arrangements for maintaining continuity in the leadership of key organisations under the Department of Commerce.
