Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh, IAS, to Hold Additional Charge of Director at Export Inspection Council

New Delhi, September 26, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce for entrustment of additional charge of the post of Director, Inspection & Quality Control, Export Inspection Council of India (EIC), to Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh, IAS (KN:2008).

Ghosh is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

As per the ACC decision, he will hold the additional charge of Director, Inspection & Quality Control, Export Inspection Council of India, for a period of six months from the date he assumes charge of the post.

The additional charge arrangement will continue for six months or until a regular appointment is made to the post, or until further orders, whichever is earliest.

The Export Inspection Council of India functions under the Department of Commerce and is associated with export quality control and inspection-related activities in the country.
