New Delhi, September 26, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the ex-post facto entrustment of additional charge of the post of Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), to Vikas Gupta, IAS (HY:2001).
Vikas Gupta is currently serving as Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) under the Department of School Education & Literacy.
According to the ACC approval, he will hold the additional charge of Commissioner, NVS, for a period of six months with effect from July 23, 2026 (A/N), or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders, whichever is earliest.
The arrangement has been approved as an ex-post facto entrustment of additional charge.
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti operates under the Ministry of Education and is responsible for administering the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country.
