New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved an extension of the additional charge of Chairman of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) assigned to Amandeep Garg, IAS (HP:1999).
Garg, who is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, will continue to hold the additional charge beyond October 8, 2026.
According to the official order issued on October 21, 2026, the extension will remain effective until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The decision ensures continuity in the leadership of the Central Pollution Control Board until a regular chairman is appointed.
Garg belongs to the Himachal Pradesh cadre of the Indian Administrative Service and is currently serving in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
