New Delhi, July 17, 2026: Senior IPS officer Anurag Kumar (AGMUT cadre, 1994 batch) has officially assumed charge as the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. He took over the responsibilities at the Delhi Police Headquarters on July 17, 2026.
With his appointment, Anurag Kumar takes charge of one of India’s most significant police forces, overseeing law enforcement, public safety, crime prevention, and security operations in the national capital. His extensive experience in policing and administration is expected to further strengthen the functioning of the Delhi Police.
