Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has announced a minor administrative reshuffle involving five IAS officers, with new postings and additional responsibilities assigned across key departments and districts.
The latest changes cover the General Administration Department (GAD), Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and district administration. One senior officer has also been given additional charge of the Surat Municipal Corporation.
Anchu Wilson has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Secretary to the Government in the General Administration Department (GAD), Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.
The new assignment places Wilson within the state government’s central administrative framework and involves responsibilities at the Secretariat level.
P B Rathod, currently serving as Director, Skill Development, Gandhinagar, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of District Development Officer (DDO), Mehsana.
Rathod will continue in his existing role while also supervising development and administrative functions in Mehsana district.
Ranjeeth Kumar has been appointed as Secretary, Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).
The new position places Kumar in an important administrative role within Gujarat’s power sector regulatory framework, including matters concerning electricity regulation and tariffs.
Nagarajan M has been appointed State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Gandhinagar.
The programme focuses on strengthening school education, improving learning outcomes and supporting educational infrastructure and development across Gujarat.
Tejas Dilipbhai Parmar, who is currently serving as Collector, Surat, has been assigned the additional charge of Municipal Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation.
Parmar will therefore oversee both district administration as Surat Collector and civic administration in the city in his additional capacity.
The latest Gujarat IAS reshuffle brings together changes in the Secretariat, regulatory administration, education, skill development, district governance and urban administration. While some officers have moved to new assignments, others have been given additional responsibilities alongside their existing positions.
The reshuffle is expected to reinforce administrative coordination across several important areas, including general administration, electricity regulation, school education, skill development and urban governance.
