Gujarat witnesses major IAS reshuffle, 26 officers get new roles

The Gujarat government has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle, reassigning as many as 26 IAS officers to key departments and leadership positions. Sanjeev Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and will also hold additional charge of the Home Department. Dr. Vikrant Pandey, currently Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been given additional responsibility as Secretary of the Information and Broadcasting Department.

Ajay Kumar has taken over as Secretary to the Chief Minister with additional charge as Vice Chairman and CEO of the Gujarat Maritime Board, Gandhinagar. Ramesh Chand Meena has been appointed Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation, while Arun Kumar M. Solanki has been named Additional Chief Secretary of the same department along with additional charge as Managing Director of the Gujarat State Warehousing Corporation.

Mukesh Kumar has been posted as Principal Secretary, Education Department, and Milind Shivram Torwane as Principal Secretary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Ashwini Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary, Energy and Petrochemicals, while Mrs. Avantika Singh takes over as Managing Director, Gujarat State Petrochemicals Corporation. Sandeep Kumar and Jenu Devan have been appointed Secretaries in the Finance Department, handling finance and expenditure respectively.

Several other key postings include Dr. Vinod Rao as Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment; Dr. Anju Sharma as Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department; Hareet Shukla, Chief Electoral Officer, with additional charge as ACS, Ports and Transport; Rajeev Topno as Principal Secretary, Health; and Rajendra Kumar as Commissioner, Transport. The reshuffle also includes new appointments across industries, labour, rural development, social justice, sports, culture, and tribal affairs, reflecting a comprehensive administrative realignment aimed at strengthening governance across Gujarat.
