J&K Government Reshuffles Administration; IAS and JKAS officers Transferred

Srinagar, October 7, 2026: The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a wide-ranging administrative reshuffle involving 49 IAS and JKAS officers. The transfers and postings were issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) with immediate effect.

The changes were notified through Government Order No. 1612-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated October 7, 2026.

Among the key changes, Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department.

Dr Ashish Chandra Verma, IAS, has been posted as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Agriculture Production Department.

At the divisional level, Vikas Kundal, IAS, has been appointed as Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, replacing Ramesh Kumar. The latest orders also include changes in several district-level assignments, including the postings of Deputy Commissioners in Jammu, Rajouri, Kupwara, Samba, Budgam, Ganderbal and Udhampur.

Other notable appointments include Mamta Yadav, IAS, as Director, Information, J&K; Basharat Qayoom, IAS, as Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation; Ayushi Sudan, IAS, as Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation; and Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, IAS, as Managing Director, National Health Mission, J&K.

The reshuffle also covers several JKAS officers. Kuldeep Krishan Sidha has been posted as Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, while Charandeep Singh has been appointed Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, among other changes.

According to the government order, all transfers and postings have been made in the interest of administration and will take effect immediately.
