The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed 2012-batch AGMUT-cadre IAS officer Mohammad Ajaz to comply with his transfer to Arunachal Pradesh and join his new posting without further delay.

Ajaz, who is currently serving as a Secretary in the Jammu and Kashmir administration, has been asked to join his Arunachal Pradesh assignment by October 5, 2026. The ministry has also warned of consequences under applicable service rules in case of non-compliance.

The latest communication follows an earlier transfer order dated September 9, 2026, through which the AGMUT-cadre officer was transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh.

According to the fresh direction, Ajaz had not joined his new assignment by the time of the communication. The MHA has therefore reiterated the requirement for him to comply with the transfer order and take charge at his designated place of posting.

The ministry has further stated that October 5, 2026, will be treated as the date of his relief from Jammu and Kashmir if he does not comply with the transfer direction.
