Thiruvananthapuram, 19 May 2025: The Kerala Government has undertaken a revised reshuffle of IPS officers, issuing a partially modified version of its earlier order. The latest changes reflect a fine-tuning of responsibilities, with a few officers now handling additional roles. Here’s how the updated assignments stand:

M R Ajithkumar (IPS: 1995: KL) continues as ADGP, Armed Police Battalions, while retaining his additional role as Excise Commissioner.

Balram Kumar Upadhyaya (IPS: 1997: KL), who was previously made Director, KEPA, remains Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services.

Mahipal Yadav (IPS: 1997: KL), appointed as ADGP, Crimes, will continue to serve as Excise Commissioner as well.

K Sethu Raman (IPS: 2004: KL) retains his dual role as IGP and Director, KEPA, while being relieved of responsibilities as DGP, Prisons & Correctional Services.

P Prakash (IPS: 2004: KL) moves from Coastal Police to take charge as IGP, State Crime Records Bureau.

A Akbar (IPS: 2005: KL) is reassigned from Internal Security to head the Coastal Police as Inspector General.

S Sreejith (IPS: 1996: KL), ADGP (Headquarters), has now been entrusted with full additional charge of ADGP, Cyber Operations.

H Venkatesh (IPS: 1998: KL), ADGP (Law & Order), takes on full additional responsibilities as ADGP, Crimes.

G Sparjan Kumar (IPS: 2002: KL), IGP, Crimes I (Thiruvananthapuram), will now shoulder full additional charges for Crimes II (Ernakulam) and Crimes III (Kozhikode) as well.

This reshuffle reflects the state’s effort to streamline leadership across critical departments while leveraging the experience of senior officers through overlapping responsibilities.
