Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has been honored with the “Green Apple Environment Award” at a ceremony held at the House of Lords, Westminster Palace, London.
The award, presented by the Green Organisation, UK, recognized POWERGRID’s impactful CSR initiative, “Dive into Opportunity – Skill Training for Fishermen at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.” The award was received by Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi (Director, Personnel) and Jasbir Singh (ED, CSR).
POWERGRID is the only Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) selected for this distinguished award.
As of October 31, 2025, POWERGRID operates 287 substations, over 1,81,054 circuit km of transmission lines, and 5,82,516 MVA of transformation capacity.
With advanced technologies, automation, and digital solutions, the organization has consistently maintained an exceptional 99.84% average transmission system availability.
