R K Agarwal appointed Part-Time Chairman of Central Warehousing Corporation

New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Rabindra Kumar Agarwal (IAS:1997:KL), Chairman and Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), has been appointed Chairman of the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) on a part-time basis.

The appointment was approved by the Central government through an Office Order issued by the Department of Food and Public Distribution on September 2, 2026.

Agarwal will assume the additional responsibility from the date he takes charge. His tenure as CWC Chairman will continue until he ceases to be the Government Nominee Director on the CWC Board, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

A 1997-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, Agarwal has been heading FCI as its CMD since January 2026. He succeeds the previous Chairman, Ashutosh Agnihotri (IAS:1999:AM), who moved to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

CWC, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Food and Public Distribution, provides warehousing and logistics services across the country.
