In a powerful stride towards sustainable urban development, Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), in collaboration with the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC), has launched a major LED street lighting initiative in Sindri town. Under the Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) umbrella, the two entities signed an MoU to install 30 km of energy-efficient LED streetlights and high mast systems, valued at approximately ₹10.29 crore.
The ceremonial signing on July 4, 2025, was marked by the presence of Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL, along with key municipal and corporate leaders. Adding a green touch to the occasion, the event featured a Van Mahotsav tree plantation drive, employee engagement activities, and a special campus tour showcasing HURL’s operational excellence.
This initiative is set to improve urban lighting, enhance public safety, and contribute to Sindri’s eco-conscious growth, exemplifying HURL’s broader vision of inclusive and responsible industrial development.
