South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) marked the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with a solemn celebration at its Headquarters on April 14, 2025. The event was led by SECL Chairman and Managing Director Harish Duhan, who attended as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Director (Technical – Operations & Projects/Planning) N Franklin Jaykumar, Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das, and Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain as Special Guests.
The program saw the participation of senior officials, department heads, SC/ST and CISTEA association members, trade union representatives, employees, women, and children. Speaking on the occasion, CMD Harish Duhan praised Dr. Ambedkar as a transformative leader and intellectual force whose vision reshaped Indian society. He emphasized the relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals in today’s world and urged everyone to draw inspiration from his resilience and dedication to justice.
To extend the spirit of service beyond the event, SECL management also distributed chairs, storage boxes, and sweets to the residents of Mata Rani Ki Kutiya Old Age Home in Bilaspur. Trade union leaders also addressed the gathering, sharing reflections on the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and commending SECL’s efforts in honoring him.
