Several IAS officers assigned new responsibilities in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Government has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle, assigning fresh responsibilities to 17 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments. The latest postings are aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing administrative efficiency in the state.

Under the new orders, Onkar Chand Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Tribal Development, Ropeways and Road Transport System Development Corporation, has been entrusted with the additional charge of the Transport Department. M. Sudha Devi has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Forests and Industries, while continuing to oversee the Personnel Department.

In another key change, R. D. Nazeem will now supervise the departments of Home, Vigilance, Power, Non-Conventional Energy, and Multi-Purpose Projects as Additional Chief Secretary. Ashish Singhmar, currently serving as Secretary to the Chief Minister (II), has been given additional responsibility for the Health and Family Welfare Department. Devesh Kumar, Principal Secretary for Urban Development and Finance, will also oversee the Animal Husbandry Department.

The reshuffle further assigns Priyanka Basu Ingty the additional charge of Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Yunus, Director of Industries, will additionally serve as Commissioner, State Taxes and Excise. Sandeep Kumar has been posted as Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation, while Rakesh Kumar Prajapati takes over as Director, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Among other appointments, Dr. Madhu Chaudhary has been designated Special Secretary, Health, with the additional responsibility of Chief Executive Officer, Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana. Om Kant Thakur has been appointed Director-cum-Warden of Fisheries, Bilaspur, while Abhishek Kumar Garg has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Project Director, Hamirpur.

Gursimar Singh has been entrusted with the dual responsibility of Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation, Shimla, and Managing Director, General Industries Corporation, Shimla. Meanwhile, Vivek Chandel has been appointed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Baddi (Solan). Ashwani Kumar Sharma has assumed charge as Commissioner, State Taxes and Excise.

The latest IAS reshuffle reflects the Himachal Pradesh government’s continued efforts to streamline administrative functioning through strategic postings and additional assignments across crucial departments.
