Senior IPS officer Sonia Narang has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) until April 6, 2026. A 2002 batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre, her appointment comes by temporarily upgrading the vacant post of DIG to IG rank in CISF. Narang’s leadership is expected to strengthen the security framework of India’s vital industrial and strategic installations.
