Uttarakhand IAS Reshuffle: 19 officers assigned new roles in major administrative changes

The Uttarakhand government has undertaken a significant bureaucratic reshuffle by assigning new responsibilities to 19 IAS officers across key departments and districts. The latest administrative changes are aimed at strengthening governance, improving departmental coordination, and accelerating development projects in the state.

Among the major appointments, Ashish Chauhan has been posted as District Magistrate (DM) of Dehradun and has also been entrusted with the responsibility of CEO, Smart City, Dehradun. Apurva Pandey has been appointed as DM of Bageshwar, while BVRC Purushottam has taken charge as Secretary, Higher Education.

Senior IAS officer Vinay Shankar Pandey has been assigned the important portfolios of Secretary, Health and Civil Aviation Departments. Meanwhile, Sachin Kurve, who was serving as Secretary, Health, has been relieved from his duties to join a Central government assignment.

Dr Ranjeet Kumar, Secretary, Higher Education, has been relieved of the additional responsibility of Secretary, Education. Similarly, Mrs Sonika has been relieved from the charge of Commissioner, Tax and Inspector General (IG), Registration.

Anand Swarup has been posted as Commissioner, Garhwal Division, while Manuj Goyal has been relieved of the responsibility of Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM). Sanjay Kumar has been appointed Director, Social Welfare, Haldwani.

In another key development, Abhishek Ruhela has been given additional charge as CEO, PMGSY. Saurabh Maharwar has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, while Alok Kumar Pandey has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Dehradun.

Ms Namami Bansal has been entrusted with the role of Additional Secretary, School Education. Ms Deepti Singh has been assigned multiple responsibilities as Director, Minorities Welfare, Managing Director of the Minorities Welfare Corporation, and Director, Sports and Youth Welfare.

Mrs Akanksha Konde has been appointed Director General (DG), School Education, along with the responsibility of Director, Employees Insurance Education. Meanwhile, Pravin Kumar has been relieved from the charge of Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun.

The latest IAS reshuffle in Uttarakhand reflects the state government’s focus on administrative efficiency, urban development, education reforms, healthcare management, and strengthening governance mechanisms across departments and districts.
