In a move aimed at strengthening the functioning of the Income Tax Department, twelve officers of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) holding the rank of Additional/Joint Commissioner of Income Tax have been assigned additional charges alongside their existing responsibilities. The officers include Ashok Kumar Pandey, Rakesh Kumar, Vaibhav Shrivastava, Sabya Sachi Roy, Pushkar Kathuria, Raj Kumar Singh, Rimjhim Pandey, Bhavika Maal, Alok Kumar Singh, Chandrabhanu Mandal, Nikhil Prasanna Jayan, and Ashwani Kumar Singal. The allocation of additional responsibilities is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure the smooth disposal of appeals and related tax matters across various jurisdictions.
