Varun Sindhu Kul Kaumudi, IPS (AP: 1986) has been appointed Administrative Member, Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Chennai.

Varun Sindhu Kul Kaumudi, an IPS officer of the 1986 batch of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as an Administrative Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Chennai. The appointment was made by the Central government on September 1, 2023.

Mr. Kaumudi is a highly experienced officer with a distinguished career in the police force. He has held several important positions, including Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Inspector General of Police. He is also an expert in cybercrime and has served as the Director General of Police (Cyberabad).

Mr. Kaumudi is a graduate of the National Police Academy, Hyderabad, and the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. He is also a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

His appointment to the CAT is a welcome development and will be a great asset to the tribunal. He is a highly respected officer with a wealth of experience and knowledge, and he is sure to make a significant contribution to the CAT.
