In a significant setback for 14 senior IAS and IPS officers serving in Telangana, the central government rejected their requests to reconsider their cadre allocation to Andhra Pradesh.
These officers had initially been assigned to the Andhra Pradesh cadre following the 2014 bifurcation but were working in Telangana. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has now directed 11 IAS and 3 IPS officers to report to the Andhra Pradesh cadre by October 16. Separate communications were sent to the Chief Secretaries of both states, relieving these officers from their Telangana assignments.
