Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has been conferred with the “CMD of the Year” award at the Utkarsh Odisha Business Leadership Awards held in Bhubaneswar on April 1, 2025. The award was presented by Dr. Ravi Narayan Behera, Member of Parliament, in the presence of distinguished guests including Padma Vibhushan awardee Sudarshan Sahoo and Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das.
During the CMD Roundtable 2025 on Energy & Sustainability, Motupalli highlighted Odisha’s rich natural resources as a key driver of India’s energy sector. He also discussed NLCIL’s projects in the state, including the Talabira II & III coal mines and the upcoming NLC India Talabira Thermal Power Plant (NTTPP) with a capacity of 2,400 MW. Additionally, he emphasized NLCIL’s commitment to sustainable energy development, with plans to repurpose mined-out lands for solar and pumped storage projects. Expressing his gratitude, he thanked “The Interview Times” for recognizing his contributions and commended their decade-long impact in journalism.
