Vinesh Phogat, the wrestler-turned-politician, has accepted a Rs 4 crore cash prize from the Haryana government, equivalent to an Olympic silver medallist’s benefits, after her disqualification from the Paris Olympics. The Haryana government offered her the prize to honour her achievements and contributions to sports. Phogat, a former protest leader, chose the cash award over a job or a plot.
