Bihar transfers 9 IAS officers in fresh Administrative reshuffle; Key Departments receive new leadership

Patna: In a fresh administrative exercise, the Bihar Government has ordered the transfer and reassignment of nine Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, introducing changes across several important departments. The orders were issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and administrative coordination.

The latest IAS reshuffle covers departments such as Information Technology, Rural Development, Agriculture, Sports, Higher Education, Food & Consumer Protection, and Public Infrastructure.

Among the notable appointments, Dharmendra Kumar has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Chairman, Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, while continuing as Special Secretary in the Education Department.

Manesh Kumar Meena (IAS:2015), presently serving as Director, Mines, has also been appointed Managing Director of the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation as an additional assignment.

In a significant portfolio exchange, Deepak Anand (IAS:2007), who was serving as Secretary, Food and Consumer Protection Department, will now head the Sports Department, while Divesh Sehra (IAS:2005) has taken over the Food and Consumer Protection portfolio.

Abhay Kumar Singh (IAS:2004) has been posted as Secretary, Rural Affairs Department and will additionally oversee the Information Technology Department.

The Finance Department has assigned Rajeev Roshan (IAS:2010) the additional responsibility of Secretary (Resources).

Similarly, Rachna Patil (IAS:2010) has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Agriculture Department.

Inayat Khan (IAS:2012) has been appointed as Managing Director, Women and Child Development Corporation, while Dharmendra Kumar (IAS:2013) has been entrusted with the additional charge of Special Secretary, Education Department.

Among district-level appointments, Shweta Bharti (IAS:2022) has been posted as Deputy Development Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad, Sitamarhi.

The latest bureaucratic reshuffle reflects the Bihar government’s focus on enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring effective implementation of development programmes across departments.
