In a major promotion exercise, the Karnataka government has elevated 27 IPS officers of the 2012 batch to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). The promoted officers include Dr Bheemashankar S Guled, Nikam Prakash Amrit, G Radhika, Rahul Kumar Shahapurwad, Dharmender Kumar Meena, Ilakkiya Karunagaran, Dr C B Vedamurthy, K M Shantharaju, Hanumantharaya, D Devaraja, D R Siri Gowri, Dr K Dharani Devi, S Savitha, C K Baba, Abdul Ahad, S Girish, M Puttamadiah, T Sreedhara, Dr M Ashwini, A N Prakash Gowda, Jinendra Khanagavi, J K Rashmi, T P Shivakumar, N Vishnuvardhana, Dr Sanjeev M Patil, K Prashurama, H D Ananda Kumar and Kala Krishnaswamy.
