Jammu: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has carried out a fresh round of cadre movements involving IAS and IPS officers under the AGMUT cadre, bringing several new officers to Jammu & Kashmir and reassigning others to different segments.
The latest order, which takes effect immediately and will continue until further directions, covers officers serving across multiple AGMUT jurisdictions.
As per the reshuffle, three IAS officers and eight IPS officers have been allocated to Jammu & Kashmir. In a corresponding move, two IAS officers and four IPS officers currently posted in J&K have been reassigned to other locations under the AGMUT framework.
New IAS Postings in Jammu & Kashmir:
The latest order brings the following IAS officers to J&K:
- Saugat Biswas, IAS (2006) – Arunachal Pradesh to Jammu & Kashmir
- Mamta Yadav, IAS (2021) – Delhi to Jammu & Kashmir
- Ishita Rathi, IAS (2022) – Puducherry to Jammu & Kashmir
The order also shifts Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, IAS (2009) from Jammu & Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh. Swati Sheemar, IAS (2023) has been moved from J&K to Delhi.
Eight IPS Officers Posted to J&K:
The police administration has also seen a sizeable movement of IPS officers.
The officers being posted to Jammu & Kashmir include:

- Arshi Aadil, IPS (2019) – Goa
- Tikam Singh Verma, IPS (2020) – Goa

Four IPS Officers Shifted from J&K:
The latest order also moves four IPS officers from Jammu & Kashmir to other AGMUT segments.
Rajesh Kumar Sharma has been transferred to Chandigarh, while Tanushree, IPS (2017), has been posted to Delhi.
Deepika, IPS (2018), has been shifted to Puducherry, and Gaurav Sikarwar, IPS (2019), has been transferred to Goa.
Centre Rebalances AGMUT Cadre:
The latest movement reflects the Centre’s continuing exercise to rationalise officer deployment across the AGMUT cadre, which covers a wide range of Union Territories and associated administrative regions.
The transfer order encompasses officers serving in Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
The orders have been issued for immediate compliance, with the concerned Chief Secretaries, Administrators and other relevant authorities directed to take necessary action.
The latest round of postings is set to bring changes to the administrative and police establishment in Jammu & Kashmir as the newly assigned officers assume their respective responsibilities.
